PHOENIX -

Authorities are looking for a man they call a person of interest in an attempted robbery of a Phoenix bank.

FBI spokesman Manuel Johnson says the man is a "person of interest" in Saturday's attempted robbery at a Bank of America branch, but he declined to explain the man's connection to the crime.

A Bank of America employee was taken hostage at her home Friday night and brought to the bank the next morning by a suspect. She had a device put on her neck that looked like a bomb but turned out not to be an explosive.

The suspect waited outside while the employee went inside, but eventually drove away.

The person of interest is pictured in Target store surveillance photos from December 20, 2012.

The FBI is also asking for help identifying a man who robbed a US Bank at 1159 W. Chandler Blvd -- the same day as the attempted robbery at Bank of America.

The bank is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to convictions.

No arrests have been made.
