
The Austin Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding and identifying a suspect wanted for robbing a bank in south Austin. On Wednesday, January police officers responded to reports of a robbery at the Woodforest National Bank, at 9300 S. IH 35.
Early investigation of the robbery has revealed that the male suspect entered the bank, displayed a note to a teller and demanded cash. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian or light-skinned Hispanic male in his mid-20s, with blue-green eyes, and a thin scruffy beard.
He was last seen wearing a tan baseball cap, black shoes with red soles, and a white and blue striped jacket with a hood. Authorities ask anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Robbery tip line at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at (512)472-TIPS, or text "Tip 103" + your message to CRIMES.
This is the first bank robbery of 2013.
