Austin police are investigating the death of a 13-year-old girl. They say she was unconscious when she was dropped off at a home on Lakehurst Drive off of William Cannon in southeast Austin Tuesday morning.

Police are calling this death suspicious. They say that girl was dropped off at a home in the 2400 block of Lakehurst around 11 a.m. and later taken to Dell Children's Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the girl did not live at the home, but one of her friends does.

Neighbors say they heard one of her friends screaming for help this morning and the girl was not breathing.

Police and paramedics tried to perform CPR on the girl, but it was too late. Police say there were no signs of trauma on the girl's body.

Investigators are trying to find out exactly where she was over night and this morning and who dropped her off. They're looking for any information to help them determine what led to this girl's death.

Some neighbors told police they saw a black car drop off the girl. Police are investigating of drugs or alcohol were involved. If you have any information about this, call police.
