Austin Police are preparing for their final "No Refusal" weekend of the year.
The initiative kicks off at 9 p.m. Friday and runs until Jan. 1, 2013 at 5 a.m.
During the initiative, anybody who is suspected of driving while intoxicated will be brought before a judge and ordered to provide a blood or breath sample if they refuse to give one voluntarily.
APD says about 26 percent of this year's traffic fatalities have been alcohol related.
Offenders found to have a blood alcohol concentration of .15 or above could face up to a year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine.
