It's not easy being Santa.
Pickups, trailers, even military cargo trucks are being packed with presents.
Operation Blue Santa has 3,500 deliveries to make.
Plus, an additional 1,500 Christmas Bureau families.
Assistant Police Chief, Brian Manley and his daughter have been Santa's helpers for years.
"Yes ma'am, it's Blue Santa Delivery," said Asst. Chief Manley.
"Thank you so much. I was so afraid that my son wouldn't get, you know, because of the issues with the...Christmas Bureau. God Bless ya'll," said Operation Blue Santa recipient, Ileana Montelongo.
"It just gives you a sense of personal satisfaction as well as a sense of pride in our department and in our city," said Asst. Chief Manley.
Ileana Montelongo half-heartedly filled out an application after two years of reaching out to the Christmas Bureau.
Montelongo explained, "One year I didn't get any response. Another year, they said, we're coming and nobody came."
She went from not having presents for her son, to having plenty to be thankful for.
"Some stuffing, vegetables...always room for jello," Montelongo said.
Ileana's so touched, she's spreading the joy.
Montelongo said, "These will be great for a family that I know that just had a baby and they have three little ones."
Thanks to the Austin community Blue Santa has enough money to show some love to those in need.
Montelongo said, "I told my son, he's seven, I was like, mijo, I want to tell you something, but I don't want you to worry. I don't want you to be scared."
She lost her job Friday.
"And I'm like, yea, um, but you know what baby, it's okay, it's good because God did that for a reason because I have a better job coming for me. My son said, but where mommy, where do you have a better job coming? I said, well, God knows," said Montelongo. "It's just me and my son, it's not a huge party of ten or anything, but it's my family...I didn't think about the family...in the community, you know? So, thank you God."
Thank you Blue Santa...and all his elves too.
Out of the 1,500 families taken over from the Christmas Bureau, 800 have still not been adopted.
If you can help, they need it.
The last day to adopt is Tuesday.
If anyone is not adopted, Operation Blue Santa will find a way to provide families with gift cards for food and each child with a $15 toy certificate.
