The Salvation Army is warning the community about a telephone scam.
Salvation Army was notified that callers were asking the locals to donate to the Salvation Army by using their credit cards.
Representatives say they have never or will ever solicit donations via telephone.
Austin Police has been notified about the scam artists.
The Salvation Army is urging anyone who has fell victim to this scam to notify their bank or credit card company immediately. Also if anyone receives a call, hang up.
