An elementary school in northeast Austin was placed on lockdown Thursday morning while police searched for a robbery suspect in the area.
Austin Police say a man robbed a KFC in the 7200 block of Ed Blustein near the intersection with Manor Road. The suspect was allegedly wearing a mask and may have displayed a weapon.
The suspect fled the scene on foot. As a result of the search, nearby Winn Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown.
