On Tuesday the Austin Chamber of Commerce announced that Visa will be opening a new global IT center in Austin.
The project will create nearly 800 jobs over the next five years. The average salary of those jobs is expected to be $96,000 a year.
Earlier this week the city of Austin approved a ten year performance-based grant for Visa that was estimated to be worth $1.6 million. The state of Texas also announced a $7.9 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund.
