Austin Police are investigating a traffic wreck that left one person dead in South Austin Monday afternoon.
Police were called just after 12:30 p.m. The accident took place in the 6600 block of Manchaca Road between William Cannon and Stassney.
According to police, a green Chevrolet swerved into oncoming traffic and struck a white SUV. The SUV flipped and spun into a third vehicle.
The driver of the white SUV died on the scene. Two other patients were transported to the hospital.
Mancahaca will be closed until around 4:00 p.m. while police investigated the accident.
