A SWAT situation in at a home near William Cannon and Brodie
Ln in south Austin came to a peaceful end Monday morning.
The situation began when a woman called 911 to report that
her roommate had been kidnapped at gun point by a man. According to APD, they
tracked the suspect to the 6200 block of Blarwood Drive, where he barricaded
himself inside a home.
SWAT Team members were able to convince the suspect to come
out of the house. The woman allegedly being held hostage was able to escape
without injuries.
Authorities are speaking with the suspect, the victim, and
her roommate to try to determine exactly what happened.
