Of the six remaining Central Texas high school playoff teams the biggest surprise stories have been Rouse and Manor high schools.
Both of the teams beat the odds to make it to the state quarterfinals.
Third year program Rouse is now succeeding after spending the first two years winning just two games. Head Coach Joshua Mann's Raiders are 9-4 and peaking heading into the playoffs.
Rouse will take on undefeated Corpus Christi Flour Bluff Saturday at Bobcat Stadium.
Meanwhile Manor Coach Sadd Jackson has the Mustangs poised for playoff success. They are one of 8 teams left in the playoffs and have earned their first 10 win season since Jackson was a senior with the Mustangs in 1989.
Manor will meet undefeated Fort Bend Marshall Saturday at 8:00 p.m. in the Alamodome.
