
Fayette County Sheriff's deputies found 1600 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Tuesday.
According to deputies, 41-year-old Rafael Salinas was pulled over on I-10. Deputies said they noticed suspicious bundles in the bed of his truck.
A police dog indicated that it was an illegal drug and the truck was searched.
Salinas was charged with possession of marijuana in an amount from 50 to 2000 pounds.
Investigators say the drugs have a street value of around $800,000.
