Search for suspect in bank robbery spree

The NYPD says Derek Colon, 24, is responsible for 8 robberies in NYC. The NYPD says Derek Colon, 24, is responsible for 8 robberies in NYC.

The NYPD is on the hunt for the man who held up eight banks in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens throughout the month of November.

Derek Colon, 24, allegedly handed a note to a teller at each location demanding money, said police.

Colon did not appear to be armed.

In the most recent robbery on Nov. 30, the suspect hit-up two banks only blocks from each other within the same hour.

Most of the incidents occurred after Noon on weekdays, added police.

Colon is described as Hispanic, 5'6" tall, approximately 140 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

A photo of Colon was released by the NYPD on Tuesday.
