No one expects a white Christmas in the valley. But near-record breaking heat has made temperatures this time of year unseasonably warm.
Later this week, our high is expected to climb back into the 80s.
Can you believe these temperatures? Usually we are wearing sweatshirts this time of year. Last month was one of the warmest on record, and this month is starting out that way too.
I was sweating putting up my Christmas decorations this past weekend. And I wasn't the only one.
Workers unloading Christmas decorations in shorts were sweating.
"If you can dream it, we can theme it."
Dreaming is what you need if you want winter weather here in the valley these days.
Casey Wulfert of "Themers" is decorating in a Christmas theme outdoors for a big party. But this weather is taxing his guys.
"This is exceptional. Usually my guys are in jackets or heavy heavy sweatshirts by now," he says.
But people still want to party, so Casey and his associates deal with the warmth, roll out the red carpet, and carry out a sleigh that hasn't seen snow in many many a yuletide.
"After 18 years, we're getting used to less and less clothing this time of the year. Because it is getting warmer and warmer."
So what do you do when it's pushing 80 in December? Crank up the snow machine, and think Christmas thoughts.
