Two charged with sexually assaulting runaway teen

Posted: Updated:

Austin police have charged a man and a woman with sexually assaulting a teenage runway early Monday morning in a North Austin motel.

Tasha Morrison, 26, and Eric Conner, 34, have both been charged with sexual assault of a child.

According to investigators, a security guard for the motel located in the 5900 block of North I-35 flagged down an officer shortly before 2:00 a.m. The security guard told the officer that a 15-year-old female told him she was a runaway from Irving and needed help.

Court documents say the girl told the officer a man and a woman forced her to perform a sex act on the man while in one of the motel's rooms. She claims the pair took her to the hotel room after meeting them earlier in the evening.

While the girl was giving her story to police, police say she saw Morrison in the parking lot and identified her as one of the suspects. Investigators also went to the room where the girl said the assault took place. Officers found Conner in the room, and he matched the description of the suspect provided by the girl.

Both Conner and Morrison were arrested and questioned by investigators.

According to an arrest warrant, Morrison admitted to investigators that the sexual acts described by the girl did take place.

Sexual assault of a child is a second degree felony.
