A top executive and a member of the board of trustees at the Long Island Power Authority will resign, according to a report.
Bruce Germano, vice president of customer service, will step down from the embattled utility authority at the end of the year, Newsday reported.
X. Christofer Damianos, a board member since 2007, has resigned, LIPA confirmed to Newsday.
Their departures follow the announced resignation of Michael Hervey, LIPA's chief operating officer and acting CEO.
Superstorm Sandy knocked out power to more than a million customers on Long Island. Thousands of residents and businesses remained in the dark for more than a week. Some customers still don't have power because of extensive damage to their electrical equipment.
LIPA, a state nonprofit municipal electric provider, owns the grid in Nassau County, Suffolk County, and on the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens.
National Grid maintains and operates LIPA's grid, but in 2014 New Jersey-based PSEG is set to take over.
