Fans are experiencing a blowout bash downtown. It is the first ever Austin Fan Fest, celebrating the inaugural year of the United States Grand Prix
It's a combination of live music and car shows, shopping, interactive race activities and giveaways.
"It's made from racing fuel from what I understand," said Michael Goldman, a tourist from South Carolina.
"We're here to have a good time," said another Fun Fest attendee, Herb Lehmann.
Herb Lehmann's posse all traveled to Austin from Mexico.
Lehmann added, "They've been to several before in different parts of the world. This is my first, so I'm looking forward to it."
They're enjoying what Fan Fest has to offer and can hardly wait for the final Formula 1 Grand Prix.
"We didn't know what to expect because it's completely new track, but it looks really nice," said Josefine Rosengren, a Fan Fest attendee.
She and her husband, Maciej Karpimski, are visiting from Sweden.
"We went out to the track to watch the practice sessions and then we're kind of just moving around, looking around town," said Karpimski.
"Getting from the hotel, the Hyatt, taking a cab down the cue-lines, taking the cue-lines into the bus, I think start to finish, it was about 15 minutes," said New Jersey tourist, Tom Pogdansky.
His buddy Michael is from South Carolina.
"Everybody has been really upbeat, so I'm thrilled. That's the coolest thing to me," said Goldman.
It's hard not be upbeat at Fan Fest, pretty much everything you see is free for the public.
"We're gonna work our way into many events for sure," added Pogdansky.
More than 200,000 people, from all over the world, are expected to be celebrating.
"It's gonna be a real jam-packed weekend," said Lehmann.
It's a world party and the race is still to come.
