Texas State student arrested for fake ID operation
A Texas State University student was arrested for manufacturing more than a dozen fake IDs, according to San Marcos Police.
Jake Thomas Waldrep, a sophomore and engineering major, was arrested on campus Tuesday night. Police also executed a search warrant at his residence for computerized and electronic records.
The investigation began when a doorman at a local bar contacted San Marcos Police about an individual attempting to use counterfeit Texas driver's license to get into bars in the area. The individual was located and was able to identify Waldrep as the suspected creator of the fake ID.
Waldrep has been charged with 14 counts of delivery of manufacture of a counterfeit instrument.
