PEORIA, Ariz. -

Peoria Police are looking for a man who stole an SUV that contained approximately 20 firearms.

Police say the SUV was stolen on May 26 about 12:45 p.m., from the parking lot of the Diamond Shamrock, near 83rd Ave and Cactus.

The victim stopped at the gas station and couldn't start his vehicle, so he called for help from a family member. He put his belongings in the family member's SUV. The guns were among his belongings.

Someone who was hanging out outside the gas station got into the driver's seat and fled with the guns.

That suspect was caught on surveillance video inside the Diamond Shamrock convenience store. He went into the store to buy a bottle of water and get change for the pay phone.

The stolen vehicle has since been recovered, but the guns have not. Detectives have run out of leads and are now releasing the photos in hopes someone can identify the suspect.

He is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male 20 to 30 years old, 5'6" to 5'8", 140 to 160 lbs., dark hair in a crew cut. He has a large colorful tattoo on his left forearm and a smaller tattoo on the inside of his right forearm.
