Neighbors in Cedar Park are claiming they've spotted a mountain lion near their homes.
Last week, Dawn Martin says she and her sister were just talking in front of the house when they saw a large tail and high legs jump over her fence. She believes it's a mountain lion. On top of that she found paw prints on her drive way, measuring more than three inches wide.
She emailed this photo to animal control and they confirmed it's definitely a large cat but hard to say if it's a mountain lion.
Either way, Martin's telling her family and neighbors to be careful.
"Animal control for the city says they don't have the capacity the equipment to catch a cat so we'll have to call Texas Parks and Wildlife if it becomes a problem," said Martin. "If it starts living on our back patio I guess it would be a problem until then we moved here expecting to have some wildlife but we didn't think we'd have mountain lions."
Texas Parks and Wildlife says Martin will have to contact a private agency to capture the large cat.
