Austin is gearing up to host its first Formula One Grand Prix on Nov. 16-18 on the new 3.4 mile circuit track. The city is also celebrating the event with entertainment including free concerts and other activities.
Below is information every race fan needs to know to about F1 weekend.
THE RACE
Gates open at 7:30 a.m. The Grand Prix race begins at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18.

Shuttle locations:
15th Street and Trinity
Travis County Expo Center
Schedule
Shuttles begin departing from both locations at 7 a.m.
Shuttles end 3.5 hours after the final schedule racing event of the day.
Airport Transit
MetroAirport bus service connects Central Austin and downtown to the airport, and will run every 15 minutes from Thursday, Nov. 15, to Monday, Nov. 19, for $1 each way.
Passenger Rail
MetroRail connects the northern communities to Downtown Austin. Tickets can be purchased at station platforms or via the Capital Metro app.
Hours of operation during Grand Prix are:
Friday: 6 a.m. to midnight
Saturday: 10 a.m. to midnight
Sunday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Downtown Loop bus
To get around downtown, ride the free Downtown Loop bus, Friday, Nov. 16, to Sunday, Nov. 18, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. The service will run every 15 minutes.
CONCERTS
Austin Fan Fest Powered by Mobil 1, downtown warehouse district; free. Music begins at 6 p.m. on Nov. 16 and 10 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 18.

Austin Convention Center, 500 E. Cesar Chavez St. Doors open 7 p.m. both nights with shows starting at 8.
Frank Erwin Center, 1701 Red River St. Doors open at 7 p.m. with show starting at 8.
Circuit of the Americas
Other local artists including Dame & Sahara Smith, La Guerrilla, Frontier Brothers, Uncle Lucius, and DJ QD will perform throughout the weekend.
OTHER EVENTS
True Taste of Austin
On Nov. 15 local merchants will host a block party on South Congress. Visitors can enjoy discounts and specials at the South Congress restaurants, bars and stores. All merchants will stay open until 10 p.m.
