A father and son were arrested for robbing three people at gunpoint at an apartment on Wednesday, police say.
52-year-old Paul Melville Sr. and his son, 39-year-old Paul Melville Jr., allegedly held up three people at an apartment near Glendale and 19th Avenues.
Police say the men went into the apartment through an unlocked front door, pointed guns at three victims and forced them to the ground. The two men then tied the victims' hands behind their backs with zipties.
One of the suspects grabbed a victim, pointed a gun at them and forced them upstairs to make sure there were no other people upstairs, police say.
After the suspect didn't find anyone, police say the men stole the victims' wallets, a cell phone and a set of car keys.
During the search, one suspect put a pillow over a victim's head and pointed a gun at the victim. The suspects allegedly threatened to kill the victims if they followed them outside.
After the suspects left, two victims were able to get out of the zipties. Police say one of them looked out a window and saw the suspects attempting to rob a fourth victim outside in a parking lot. The suspects searched the victim's car but didn't take anything.
The fourth victim took down the license plate from the suspects' vehicle and police discovered it was being rented by a woman. She told police she rented a sport utility vehicle for her boyfriend, Shane Travars.
Police say they believe Shane Travars and Paul Melville Sr. are the same person.
Officers arrested Paul Melville Jr. on Thursday when they saw him leaning into the SUV rented by Paul Melville Sr.'s supposed girlfriend.
Paul Melville Jr. told police his home address and officers were able to find and arrest Paul Melville Sr.
The victims picked both men out of a line up. Both suspects refused to answer officers' questions.
Melville Sr. is charged with four counts of armed robbery with a deadly weapon, three counts of kidnapping (apprehension of injury), four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of burglary.
As of Nov. 11, Melville Sr.'s citizen status was not verified.
