Mom and puppies rescued after being left to starve

PHOENIX -

Phoenix Fire crews rescued a starving dog and her hungry puppies about a week ago. They were stuck inside a closet in a north Phoenix apartment.

They were in bad shape.

Animals Benefit Club is trying to raise money for the mother dog's medical care, and to cover the cost of spaying and neutering the puppies.

"She has some medical issues we're resolving right now, we're feeding her properly, giving her water medication. The babies are gaining weight but we have considerable costs medically and on spay neuter on the pups. So we're trying to raise funds," says Andra Jeffres, Board Chair of Animals Benefit Club.

If all of these animals are healthy enough, the Animals Benefit Club expects to put up all these cute puppies for adoption.
