At the grand re-opening of Bashas' on Warner and McClintock, shoppers were impressed.
"It's beautiful. We love how big it is and how open it is and it has everything we need," said Rhonda Williamson.
This Bashas' store looks a lot different from the rest of the grocery stores in the chain. It starts with covered parking and just gets better.
Inside the store is much bigger. The shelves are shorter, making it easy to reach that top shelf.
"I like it. It's roomy, lots of selection -- it all looks fresh," said Gilbert Lopez.
There's free wi-fi, a cafe with flat screen televisions, a bakery, even made-to-order pizzas. Or you can make the pizza yourself. All the ingredients are there, including the toppings and the dough are ready to go.
Customers wanted healthy options, including organic foods and vegetables.
If you're at Bashas' and don't know what you want for dinner, you have some options. There are recipe cards on every shelf and all the ingredients you need to make that dinner.
Fast and easy, but healthy food.
"I have shopped here before. It was just kind of run down, not everything was in stock and the fruits and vegetables would be rotting already, so it's nice to see it fresh and new," said Nicole Kern.
Nicole is so impressed and plans to do more grocery shopping at the Tempe Bashas' location.
The store has helped the neighborhood and the company may be remodeling older stores just like the new model.
