Chandler polling place encounters problem with voting machine
The polls had been open for just a few minutes when a hiccup occurred at one of the polling places in Chandler.
Bruce Felicki arrived at his polling place near Dobson and Ray Roads at Calvary Lutheran Church at 5:45 a.m.
Felicki was second in a line of about 30 people. After Felicki got in and voted, he found out the machine he used was broken.
Poll workers told him to put his ballot in a box and they would put it in the machine for him at a later time.
"To me, it's a matter of principal. I want my ballot cast and secure, I want it in the machine, I want to know I've done the right thing. We need to vote, it's our right," Felicki said. "My question to them.. don't they ever test these machines? We've had four years to try this thing out."
The machine was down for about 30 minutes but was fixed.
