TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson-based Raytheon Missile Systems is denying allegations raised in a former partner's lawsuit that it stole missile warhead trade secrets.
Ordnance Technologies North America Inc. filed a federal lawsuit against Raytheon in May. The Arizona Daily Star reports (http://bit.ly/U7NkGP) it is seeking a court order halting Raytheon's use of the bunker-busting warhead technology used in Tomahawk missiles as well as monetary damages.
Raytheon has declined comment. But a recent court filing by the company says it developed the Tomahawk missile warhead at the heart of the suit independently. Raytheon also says purchase orders for designs from Ordnance gave Raytheon ownership of any intellectual property developed under the contracts.
It says that means even if it was using the designs it owns them under terms of the contracts between the companies.
