Racecars will rev their engines at the new Circuit of the Americas track in just two weeks. But the first race there was actually Saturday.
Thousands of local runners got to give the track a test run at the Formula Run today. At the same time, they got a sneak peak at the new facility.
So how was it?
"I had a great time," said Shundreka Givan. "This hill was a little rough, but I made it over."
"I wasn't expecting to start on a hill, but I thought that was pretty cool, and then right after the hill you go into a hairpin turn," said Abel Gonzalez.
"It's amazing! We're out there running, and just the hills going up and down, and thinking of what the spectators were going to see. It's just fantastic," said Samia Joseph.
Not everything was running smoothly. There were several complaints of traffic outside the track.
