PHOENIX -

An 11-year-old girl who was run over by two cars on Halloween afternoon has died as a result of her injuries.

11-year-old Bu Meh was riding a bicycle northbound across Indian School Road in a marked crosswalk at 20th Ave.

She took the lead ahead of her father and rode out into the roadway without waiting for traffic to stop, according to Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump.

The bicyclist collided with a silver Mazda heading westbound. After the initial collision, she continued into the curb lane and was again struck by a blue Mazda also westbound, Crump said.

She was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. Meh was not wearing a helmet.

Friday afternoon, she died of her injuries.

Both cars stopped at the scene and were determined not to be impaired. No citations have been issued and the investigation is ongoing.
