The city of San Marcos has issued a boil water notice through at least Wednesday evening because of a 12-inch water main break in San Marcos.
Water service has been restored to most of the homes in northwest San Marcos after a construction crew broke the water line west of Sessom Drive.
The line serves customers from the Comanche water storage tank in upper areas of San Marcos.
The boil water notice covers the area between old ranch road 12 and wonder world drive, north of Prospect Street and Rogers Street.
It also covers neighborhoods north and west of the university from Old Ranch Road 12 to Ed J.L. Green Drive.
The Texas State campus was not affected by the outage.
