
A US Airways spokesperson said Tuesday they have canceled half of their 3,200 daily flights and have already canceled 340 flights scheduled for Wednesday.
US Airways operations have halted in New York, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, and several other Northeast airports.
All airports are expected to resume operations on Wednesday, with the exception of New York's LaGuardia, JFK, and Newark airports.
There is significant damage from the storm at Kennedy and La Guardia. Not only is there localized flooding and infrastructure damage, there is an added complication. Many employees who work at the airport use mass transit -- many roads and subway routes have been shut down.
The Tempe-based airline has relaxed their change-fee policies for destinations affected by Sandy.
