A portion of the Loop 303 in the west valley was closed over the weekend for construction -- but it has reopened earlier than expected.
Beginning 10 p.m. Friday, Loop 303 was closed between Grand and Glendale Avenues to allow for crews to build future southbound lanes.
It was scheduled to be closed until 6 p.m. Sunday -- but opened up by 5 p.m. Saturday.
The project to turn Loop 303 into a six-lane freeway is scheduled for completion in fall 2013.
