PHOENIX -
The city of Phoenix dedicated a new pedestrian bridge to Congressman Ed Pastor Saturday.
The bridge, which features two major art projects, is located just east of 35th Avenue, crossing over McDowell Road.
The Ed Pastor pedestrian bridge is a safe alternative to the busy intersection at McDowell, and will be useful for students that attend Isaac Middle School.
Earlier this summer, the longtime Democratic congressman easily won his party's nomination for the seat for the 12th time.
Pastor is a fixture in the south Phoenix district. The 68-year-old Pastor has been in Congress since winning a special election in 1991.
