Austinites who pay for on-street parking with a credit or debit cards will be required to purchase a minimum of one hour.
The changes are a result of increased city transaction fees.
Starting Nov. 1, drivers who purchase time using credit or debit cards can also use the one-hour minimum at any parking meter in Austin. This means drivers can run errands using the same receipt.
Those using coins will not be affected by this requirement.
The city will post notices on all paystations alerting drivers of the changes.
