One person is dead after a head-on crash in South Austin.
It happened around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, in the 8000 block of Manchaca, south of William Cannon.
Police said a red BMW was northbound on Manchaca when the driver lost control on the wet road and crashed head-on into a white Subaru Forrester. They said the driver was going too fast for the weather conditions.
The driver of the BMW died at the scene, and a passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the Subaru had minor injuries. Police haven't yet released the identities of the people involved.
