A valley salon is giving customers a new "do" for a discounted price to promote breast cancer awareness.
Inside The Green Room organic hair lounge in Scottsdale, located off Scottsdale and Camelback Roads, hairstylists are passionate about making you over with cuts, blow outs and color.
But according to salon owner Eric Flotta they also love: "Doing anything we can do be charitable and give back to the community," Flotta said.
The salon wants to give back during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout October, The Green Room is offering 50 percent off all services for anyone who has been affected by cancer.
Survivors, people currently fighting, anyone who has been diagnosed or friends and family who have watched their love ones go through it, can get the discount.
Flotta says the real inspiration are women like Mary Dahlen, who has been cancer free for five years.
The mother of three was blindsided by the diagnosis because her family has no history of cancer.
"It was surreal, I felt numb when I was first diagnosed," Dahlen said.
Dahlen likes that The Green Room uses organic, non toxic products. She feels like they are a healthier option.
The cancer survivor appreciates the salon's contribution.
"It's wonderful to get the awareness and education out," Dahlen said.
The salon will have another event in November as part of the stimulus package contribution.
THey will offer free haircuts and free blow outs to any woman with a job interview.
