Lucky Strike is opening a new bar that's been in development for just over a year.
It's a new place in downtown Phoenix to dance, drink, eat and have fun. The Gypsy Bar will open to the public Saturday night. It adds an additional 15,000 square feet, connected to Lucky Strike at CityScape.
"Saturday should be fantastic. We're expecting a large crowd," said Dallas Henderson, General Manager of the Lucky Strike/Gypsy Bar. "We're expecting turnout from people from every part of the valley."
The main attraction is the full dance floor with video screens, go-go dancers and space for DJs and other musical entertainment.
"It's got all the energy of a dance club operation, but it's got the impact of a full entertainment, casino-style venue," said Henderson.
From the dance floor to the state-of-the-art gaming center, you'll find 40 adult-themed arcade games. Load mooney onto a card to play them and then earn tickets that can be redeemed for prizes, including cameras, iTunes gift cards and iPod Shuffles.
"It's very, very unique to the downtown area as well as to the Phoenix area in general," said Henderson.
To quench your thirst and your appetite, there's an island bar and a dining area.
Valley party planner, DJ and fashionista, Jen Deveroux, who graced the October cover of Java magazine, has been tapped to serve as Gypsy Bar's entertainment director.
"She's going to be doing everything from working in our creative department to help programming some of our evenings," said Henderson. "It's going to have everything from live entertainment, live act trapeze artists to fire shows to aerial artists to you know, all across the gammit."
Deveroux recently put on the Lambchop Art Show at the Monarch Theatre downtown and swim parties over the summer.
Her next big event will be the Medusa's Revenge fashion show next month at Gypsy Bar, featuring local models, designers, artists and performers.
"We're going to piece together specifically monthly shows and then weekly shows. We're going to do probably quarterly well, so something very explosive, very huge," said Henderson.
