APD seeks suspect in east Austin sexual assault

Posted: Updated:

APD is searching for a teen they say broke into a home and sexually assaulted a woman asleep in her east Austin home.

Detectives say on Oct. 3 around 3:30 a.m. the attacker broke in to the woman's mobile home located in the 5700 block of Johnny Morris Drive.

The victim says she woke to see him standing in her room. She says he sexually assaulted her without ever saying a word. He then walked out.

The victim says the person who attacked her was a teen. She says he is between 14 to 18 years of age.

Detectives say people living in the area should take caution.

"Keep your doors locked, your windows locked, keep some lights on outside if you have them. Keep your eyes out for anybody being suspicious in the neighborhood, especially with this description of a young man who may be watching people out there," said Lt Mike Eveleth with APD Sex Crimes Unit.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the sex crimes unit at 512-974-5230 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
