CHANDLER, Ariz. -
Some people are so desperate for gas, they're drilling into the gas tank's of people vehicle -- targeting cars parked in people's driveways.
Police say there have been three victims in the same valley neighborhood within 48 hours.
All the incidents occurred near Ray Road between Rural and Kyrene overnight.
When they get up in the morning, their gas tank has been drained. And the cost of repairs is pricey.
"But my understanding is to replace these fuel tanks on some of these vehicles, like the Chevrolets and Jeeps, it's somewhere between $1,500 and $1,800," said Sgt. Joe Favazzo.
Investigators are asking neighbors to immediately report anything suspicious.
