APD seeks “Trick or Treat Bandit”

Austin police are searching for a man they are calling the "Trick or Treat Bandit."

Police say the suspect is responsible for seven bank robberies in the Austin area. The first robbery happen in October 2009 and the most recent was Thursday morning at the IBC Bank at 11400 Burnet Road.

Police say he usually enters the bank and shows a gun and demands cash. Also in each robbery he has worn a sweater or jacket, gloves and some form of mask.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s to early 30s. He is 5'6" to 5'8" in height with a husky build and dark hair. He was seen driving a green or grayish late 1990s to early 2000 model Toyota Camry with gold trim and a sunroof.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Robbery tip line at 512-974-5092 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS. There is a $1,000 reward for a tip leading to an arrest or charges filed. There is also an additional $5,000 reward being offered in addition to Crime Stoppers.
