On Monday officials at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport announced they would build an additional security checkpoint.
The checkpoint will be built in order to help reduce security screening wait times during holidays and special events. Officials said that the wait during these times can be as much as 45 minutes.
The new temporary checkpoint will be built in the east ticketing lobby. The checkpoint will be operated only when TSA has the staffing to do so.
