An Austin man has been charged after police say he broke into an apartment
and sexually assaulted a 5-year-old girl.
Kenneth Wayne Dawson has been charged with burglary of a habitation and
aggravated sexual of a child.
On Sept. 28, police say Dawson broke into the home of a family who he met a
week prior when he helped them move in.
The victim woke in her bed to find a man on top of her. She told police that
he undressed her and took his clothes off as well.
The victim's sister also woke up and saw the man on top of her and cried for
help. The victim's father entered the room and Dawson fled out the window.
The victim's father told police Dawson was not wearing any pants.
Police found Dawson's wallet outside the window and found Dawson hiding in a
nearby apartment.
Dawson was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
