Austin Police have arrested Jeffery Howard for the murder of a homeless woman in June.
Just after 7:30 a.m. on June 15, the body of Valerie Louise Godoy was found in Duncan Park in the 900 block of West 9th Street. Investigators said she had obvious trauma to the body.
Howard, 41, has been charged with murder. He is currently in the Travis County Jail with his bond set at $500,000.
Detectives are asking anybody that might have seen Howard or Godoy in Duncan Park on Thursday June 14 to call the Homicide Tip Line at 512-477-3588.
