Hays County residents want the Commissioners to continue the tradition of prayer inside the Courtroom.
The legality of the courts prayers came under question after Americans United for Separation of Church and State complained that using Christian words in prayer is a violation of the Constitution.
Since then Commissioners have tweaked their prayer to more generic terms like 'creator' instead of Jesus or other Christian words.
Tuesday morning Hays County residents addressed the court. Many of them used their three minutes to prove a point.
Judge Bert Cobb says the county is looking at ways to keep prayer in the courtroom without risking a lawsuit.
"We are here to protect the rights of all of our citizens be they atheist, Presbyterians whatever," said Cobb.
Commissioners will be meeting in two weeks and will have a resolution to vote on.
