Wakesurfers from all over will descend on Lake Austin this weekend for the Barrel Boss Competition at the Steiner Ranch Lake House.

Unlike traditional wakeboarding, riders drop their rope and perform tricks on big waves cause by sacks of water dragged behind the boat.
Raleigh Hagar, a ten-year-old fifth grader at Eanes Elementary School, took up the sport three years ago. She is now a professional who trains with a coach.
"I started just wake boarding and then I saw some YouTtube videos about wake surfing and I wanted to try that, and a tried it a few times, and then I liked it a lot," Hagar said.
Campbell Erekson, 13, is also competing this weekend in the event.
"I'm really going to try and nail everything I can and use it as preparation and learning experience to get ready for worlds that comes up in two weeks," Erekson said.
The Barrel Boss takes place on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
