SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (MyFox Detroit) -- Michigan State University junior Brandon Carmack says Tuesday morning he was beaten by a group of students, some whom he says are hockey players at the school.
Carmack's scars are still fresh from an attack he says happened at a home on the corner of Beal and Grand River in East Lansing. His then girlfriend asked him to meet her at what students reference as the "hockey house". They say MSU hockey players live there.
Carmack says there were a dozen guys inside. He tried to get her to leave with him. That's when he says he was attacked.
"Her friends literally beat me down and left me for dead."
His nose was broken, eye socket cracked and he was held down while he says he was brutally beaten.
"I was getting hit and kicked several times. I got stabbed with something metal in my (head) and stabbed with keys."
This comes days after another MSU student says he was beaten just off campus. 19-year-old Zach Tennen says it was because he's Jewish. Police are investigating that now.
Meanwhile, Carmack says he was left for dead after stumbling out of the house and trying to walk home.
"I collapsed in a driveway, and thank God a friend of mine just happened to be at this house party and she saw me there bleeding and called the ambulance."
Students who live next door to the "hockey house" are hoping the neighborhood stays peaceful through the school year.
"I've recognized like their faces from seeing them around campus and being at a few hockey games," said Steve Pyzik. "A little bit of partying is okay, but that stuff is just not acceptable."
We talked with the university to ask whether they know of any of the allegations against some of those hockey players. A spokesperson says they have no knowledge of any students being charged with crimes at this time, but again the prosecutor's office hasn't pressed any charges yet.
East Lansing Police say they will have all of their work wrapped up in both of these cases and will be ready to present it to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office next week.
