Brandon Daniel made his first court appearance on Wednesday to face charges he shot and killed an Austin Police officer on April 6.
Daniel has been charged with capital murder in the death of Officer Jaime Padron at a North Austin Wal-Mart.
Daniel's attorneys received evidence from the case including videos taken by surveillance cameras at the store.
They also asked the judge for an expedited decision on whether the Travis County District Attorney's Office will seek the death penalty. They hope to have an answer from prosecutors in the next 60 days.
