Loriana Hernandez is an award winning journalist, proud new Mom, fitness fanatic and healthy/natural eating enthusiast. She is so excited to be the newest member of FOX 7's Good Day Austin team but she is certainly not new to FOX 7. She has been giving you the EDGE as co-anchor of the FOX 7 NEWS EDGE at 5 & 9 since January of 2007. Now, she is thrilled to keep doing what she loves but instead get up bright and early to bring you the news of the day here in Central Texas and around the world, show off her bubbly personality and still have plenty of time for the newest member of her family: her son Gabriel. Yet another reason she is no stranger to early morning wake ups!
Loriana has been an anchor for nearly 20 years on both national and the local level.
After graduating with a degree in International Business with a focus on International Law, Loriana began her career at CNN and CNN En Espanol, moving up the ranks from bookings, writer, producer to finally Anchor/Reporter. She then crossed the country to work as the primary anchor NBC in Fresno, CA, before moving to Dallas to serve as a morning anchor at NBC5.
No doubt, Loriana is passionate about news, but nothing is more paramount than her commitment to health, fitness and fighting autism. Loriana started the FOX 7 Health Edge and is dedicated to helping Austin live happy, live healthy. Her most proud personal achievement is founding Maggie's Hope. The non-profit organization was founded out of the emotional and financial toll she saw autism take on her own family after her 5-year old niece Maggie was diagnosed with the disorder. Today Maggie's Hope exists to help the millions of children nationwide diagnosed with autism get funding for the many treatments they need to recover. To learn more visit www.maggieshope.org.
In her spare time you can find Loriana running the trails with her son Gabriel and husband Cesar, taking in a Bikram Yoga Class, playing tennis or exploring the town for fun kid activities.
Loriana hails from Peachtree City, GA, and is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
