It was one year ago, that U.S. special forces killed Osama Bin Laden. The man, who commanded that mission, Admiral William McRaven, spoke in Austin Tuesday night, at the Champions of Justice Gala.
Admiral McRaven spoke at a dinner honoring veterans for the Texas Access to Justice Commission. Admiral McRaven didn't talk about the anniversary of Osama Bin Laden's death, but he did talk about war and the brave work done by our men and women in the military.
"Your military are doing something about the evil in the world everyday," said Admiral McRaven.
Admiral McRaven commanded the helicopter assault on Osama Bin Laden's compound in Pakistan. He also briefed President Obama during the operation. Admiral McRaven is a former Navy Seal he's also a UT grad which earned him a lot of applause at the event.
This event tonight raised more than $400,000 for legal services for low-income veterans in Texas.
