A Tempe High School security guard has been accused of stealing more than $1,000 in football ticket sale proceeds.
Police say 47-year-old Kimmie Dwayne Baker was arrested Tuesday after $1,028 in cash was stolen from a locked closet in an administration office.
They say Baker allegedly entered the administration building and took the money between Sept. 23 and 26.
According to police, Baker denied having a key to the locked closet where the money was held.
Detectives served a search warrant at Baker's home and found a key to the locked closet where the money was stored. The key was found in Baker's bible.
When confronted about the evidence found, Baker denied involvement in the incident.
Baker was booked into the Tempe City Jail and faces burglary, theft and misdemeanor charges.
It was unclear Wednesday whether Baker has a lawyer yet.
