SR. WEB PRODUCER
Work closely with Editorial team to manage all production/quality aspects of Station's digital platforms. Conceptualize/produce creative material, with emphasis on curating local/social content. Coordinate and supervise digital content producers. Perform duties of on-line writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering. Facilitate the editorial gathering of local web news, gleaning information from various sources and contacts and reproducing the above material into strong compelling material. Supervise and work with editorial staff on HTML, JSP, FLASH and Photoshop. Interface with Editorial managers and supervisors from the Broadcasting side of newsroom to create a cohesive working atmosphere. Ensure Web sites are coded to standards consistent with web style guides set by National in-house team. Bachelor's degree plus 3-4 years of web production management experience. Expert knowledge of web production, traffic reporting and ad serving systems. Solid understanding of web standards, design and usability. Knowledge of common web and application architectures. Knowledge of print and broadcast newsroom standards and styles. Understanding of user on-line behavior. Highly skilled in all areas of a/v digitizing, editing and encoding techniques. Advanced knowledge of Internet publishing software and content management systems. Position demands excellent print/web writing, web editing, interface design and web production skills. Handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills. Must possess great leadership and training skills, having the ability to evangelize multimedia and multiplatform, gaining involvement throughout Station. Ability to work under pressure as a cohesive member of a team.
Represent KTBC and MyFOXAustin.com to local advertisers. Develop new-to-station and web business. Maximize billing on existing account list. Write, prepare and deliver sales presentations to advertisers. Negotiate business with agency buyers. Cultivate new-to-station advertisers through cold-calling and aggressive prospecting. Prior media sales experience required and television sales experience preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with One Domain, Scarborough, Wide Orbit and CMR is a plus. Excellent people skills. Good driving record.
Anchor assigned newscasts. Report as needed and assigned. Anchoring duties may include live field anchoring and other special events. Be an energetic, effective, clear communicator when telling and selling a story. Must be good at research and conducting live interviews. We need someone who can think on their feet and handle breaking news as well as live interviews. We are looking for someone who is not always tethered to scripts. Minimum of three years experience reporting and anchoring. College degree preferred in communications related field. Strong command of English language; working knowledge of libel laws and generally accepted journalistic ethics. Must exercise good judgment. Must have extensive, proven anchoring/reporting experience in television news. Must be a highly creative, motivated self-starter, team player and newsroom leader. Must be able to drive company vehicles. Must have a good driving record. Schedule includes anchoring weekends, reporting three days a week.
MULTI-MEDIA GRAPHIC DESIGNER/ANIMATOR
Works with Creative Services, News, the corporate graphics hub and other station departments to create and produce a wide range of design projects, from station premiums to high end 3-D animations. Key role is to insure consistent design direction across all station platforms including on-air, web, mobile, print, social media and digital. Also works on sales/client driven commercial production and digital ad creation.
Design experience required in multiple mediums, with primary strength in broadcast design. Dynamic, positive, proactive team player with a strong portfolio demonstrating solid skills regarding layout & design, typography, web design, broadcast motion design and 3D animation. At least 2 years prior television station graphics experience preferred. College degree in related field or design school education is strongly preferred. Expert skills in Adobe Master Collection are a must. Experience with Maxon Cinema 4D is strongly preferred. Software knowledge in the following programs is a plus: Boris Final Effects; Digital Film Tools Power Matte/EZ mask; Gen Arts Sapphire; Red Giant Trapcode Suite/Light Factory; Video CoPilot Optical Flares; Zaxwerks. Must have strong communication skills and have ability to work well under deadline pressure.
