Represent KTBC and MyFOXAustin.com to local advertisers. Develop new-to-station and web business. Maximize billing on existing account list. Write, prepare and deliver sales presentations to advertisers. Negotiate business with agency buyers. Cultivate new-to-station advertisers through cold-calling and aggressive prospecting. Prior media sales experience required and television sales experience preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with One Domain, Scarborough, Wide Orbit and CMR is a plus. Excellent people skills. Good driving record.
Put together a fast-paced, clear newscast with good writing skills, graphics use, and ability to put the best video with the best writing. Work with reporters and photographers to get the best stories on the air. Good at researching topics for live interviews in newscast. Creative producer who can be flexible and change focus of show quickly and efficiently. Two years experience as a newscast producer. Working knowledge of libel laws and journalistic ethics. College degree preferred in related communications field. Must be creative and highly motivated. Must be a team player.
Anchor morning and noon newscasts. Report as needed and assigned. Anchoring duties may include live field anchoring and other special events. Be an energetic, effective, clear communicator when telling and selling a story. Must be good at research and conducting live interviews. The morning show is five and a half hours of news, music, information and weather. We need someone who can think on their feet and handle breaking news as well as live interviews. We are looking for someone who is not always tethered to scripts. Minimum of three years experience reporting and anchoring. College degree preferred in communications related field. Strong command of English language; working knowledge of libel laws and generally accepted journalistic ethics. Must exercise good judgment. Must have extensive, proven anchoring/reporting experience in television news. Must be a highly creative, motivated self-starter, team player and newsroom leader. Must be able to drive company vehicles. Must have a good driving record.
Write, edit and produce daily promos for FOX 7 newscasts. Develop innovative promo spots and creative content for FOX 7 News, programming, station image, website, social media and other projects as needed. Must be able to work under pressure to produce high quality spots on tight deadlines, both individually and as part of a production team. Must be a motivated, efficient team player with strong writing skills and post production/edit expertise as well as proactive, positive communication skills. This position will be required to accommodate flexible schedules. 1-2 years experience writing, producing and editing promos in a small to medium market strongly preferred. News promotion experience preferred. Prior writing and producing experience in a professional job required. College degree strongly preferred. Videography and lighting skills strongly desired. Advanced Final Cut Pro and/or Avid editing and Adobe Creative Suite software skills (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator) are a must.
Produce and anchor two hour weekend morning newscasts. Create graphics, write stories and produce segments for these newscasts. Ability to research topics and set up live interviews or interviews for taped segments. Be an energetic, clear, effective communicator when telling and selling a story. One to two years experience producing and anchoring. College degree is preferred in a communications related field. Strong command of English language; working knowledge of libel laws and generally accepted journalist ethics. Must exercise good judgment. Must be a highly creative, motivated self-starter. Team player. Work schedule to include weekends.
Operate our SONY ELC automated newscast system. Have knowledge of production switcher, DVE and other sources used during live newscasts in a director/td setting. Work closely with newscast producers to ensure a clean on air newscast. Edit video for newscasts from various sources. General understanding of television news operations and video/photography techniques. Previous experience as an editor and director are required. Knowledge of newsroom computer systems as well as newscast production. Creative, energetic self-starter. Team player. Work schedule to include weekends.
